The Pesher Association, an acronym for The Association for the Development of Welfare Services in Lod, was founded in 1987 with the aim of initiating, developing and operating welfare projects for population groups with special needs. The association is run by a public management committee whose members work on a totally voluntary basis in accord with the Non-Profit Associations Law and the regulations of proper management. The association's budget is based on government allocations for projects run by the association, and on support from public and private funding sources.
